Meet Khalid birch

Born and raised in Charleston, SC, I found my way into movement earlier than most. I went to Palmetto Scholars Academy, where I taught my very first fitness class at just 16. That same year, a car accident and an unexpected Type 2 diabetes diagnosis in the ER shifted the entire direction of my life.

Movement became more than a hobby—it became my medicine, my healing, and eventually, the way I learned to reclaim my body and my power. I spent time at Georgia Southern, where I expanded my training and learned how to teach in a variety of modalities. When the pandemic brought me back home to Charleston, I leaned deeper into my passion.

That winter, I completed instructor training at The Works Cycle and officially joined the team in December 2020. The following year, I completed The Works Fall Yoga Teacher Training and joined The Works team again in January 2022—this time as both a yoga and cycle instructor. In every class I teach, my mission is simple: to make every single body feel strong, beautiful, and confident—even on their hardest days. Movement changed my life, and now I get to share it in a way that helps others feel more alive, more empowered, and more themselves.
